Civil Drainage Engineer - SuDS, Flood Risk & Project Lead

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in Dublin, is seeking both Intermediate Civil Drainage Engineers and a Senior Civil Drainage Engineers to join their growing team.

The successful candidates will primarily work on the design and delivery of residential developments, together with urban regeneration and industrial development projects, taking schemes from concept design through planning approval and detailed design.

Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid) or fully remote for candidates based outside Dublin, including international applicants.

About the Role

Depending on your level of experience, you will be involved in the design and delivery of:

• Designing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) for residential and mixed use developments
• Surface water drainage design
• Foul sewer and wastewater network design
• Hydraulic modelling and drainage calculations
• Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with OPW guidance
• Hydrological studies
• Culvert sizing and hydraulic design
• Preparing drainage strategies and supporting planning applications
• Working closely with multidisciplinary design teams, architects and planners throughout the project lifecycle

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, delivering practical and sustainable engineering solutions for a diverse range of projects.

Intermediate Civil Drainage Engineer Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent)
• Experience with residential or development infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Experience using Causeway Flow, Site 3D, Civil 3D or similar software
• Understanding of Irish Water Codes of Practice, CIRIA C753 and the Greater Dublin Strategic Drainage Study (GDSDS) is advantageous
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn

The successful candidate will support senior engineers with the design and delivery of drainage solutions while developing their technical expertise.

Senior Civil Drainage Engineer Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent)
• Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland or equivalent)
• Approximately 10-15 years' drainage design experience
• Strong knowledge of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Experience undertaking Flood Risk Assessments and hydraulic modelling
• Thorough understanding of Irish Water Codes of Practice, CIRIA C753 and GDSDS
• Proficient in Causeway Flow, Site 3D and Civil 3D
• UK / Irish experience essential
• Experience leading projects from concept through planning and detailed design
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

The Senior Engineer will take responsibility for technical leadership, client liaison, project delivery and mentoring junior members of the team.
