Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the Children's Emergency Department
The Children's Emergency Department at The John Radcliffe Hospital has a vacancy for a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. The role requires a team led, compassionate, high quality approach to care in a fast paced, demanding environment. Previous experience working with children and in an Emergency Department is essential.

Person Specification Education/Qualifications- Registered Nurse (Child)
- Relevant specialist post basic education (e.g., A&E Course, Leadership course/diploma preferably at degree level)
- Adult/Paediatric Life Support provider (depending on post) - Trauma Training Qualification
- Up to date knowledge and expertise in the speciality
- Knowledge of key professional issues and NMC guidelines relating to practice
- Evidence of working across organisational boundaries
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff
- Clear vision of the role and service
- Ability to initiate, sustain and evaluate change
- Skilled written and verbal communication
- Understanding of relevant national strategy and policy as it relates to the service
- Commitment to maintain own fitness for practice through a personal portfolio of competencies
- Understanding of appropriate health and safety legislation
- Understanding of equal opportunities
