Children Panel Accredited Advocacy Career Progression Hybrid Working

A well-established and respected law firm in Lancashire is seeking an experienced Public Law (Care) Solicitor to join its growing Family Department on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to play a key role in the continued development and growth of a successful department, within a supportive and collaborative firm that values long-term progression and high-quality client care.

The Role

The successful candidate will handle all aspects of Public Law (Care) work, including:

  • Attending Child Protection Conferences
  • Participating in PLO meetings
  • Conducting Court Advocacy
  • Managing cases from initial instruction through to conclusion

You will manage a varied caseload of public law children matters while working closely with a dedicated paralegal for additional support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of public law care matters
  • Advising clients on funding options and assessing financial eligibility
  • Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
  • Representing clients in court and conducting advocacy where appropriate
  • Delivering clear, compassionate advice to often vulnerable clients
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and SRA standards
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years' PQE in Public Law (Care)
  • Children Panel Accreditation is essential
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative confidently
  • Experience working with sensitive and vulnerable clients
  • Strong organisational, time management, and case management abilities
