The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK, known worldwide for its expertise, standard of care and research. The Royal Brompton in Chelsea houses six cardiac catheter labs, two dedicated EP/CRM labs and one of the busiest CRM clinics in the country, serving a large paediatric and ACHD population.
Candidate RequirementsApplicants should have at least Band 6 level experience in all invasive and non invasive cardiac procedures, including complex CRM device implantation and follow up. Knowledge of Electrophysiology is required; EP training can be provided for career progression.
Main Duties- Patient/customer care (direct and indirect)
- Assist the pacing clinic lead with day to day clinic management, device follow up interpretation, and research/audit activities.
- Support cardiac physiology teams during pacemaker/ICD clinics and provide therapy suggestions based on clinical findings.
- Provide support for cardioversion, pre operative preparation, MRI and ward duties as required.
- Maintain equipment, report technical faults, and assist with stock control.
- Participate in remote monitoring services for implantable cardiac devices and develop SOPs and protocols.
- Assist with staff rota formulation, induction, and training programmes, ensuring competency in clinical practice and algorithm knowledge.
- Support patient education initiatives and liaison with other departments.
- Participate in cardiology departmental meetings and contribute to policy development.
- Maintain high standards of clinical practice and ensure patients, relatives, and visitors are treated with respect and privacy.
- Provide courteous telephone reception, directing calls and answering queries from patients, GPs, and other hospitals.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage departmental stock, liaise with Biomedical Engineering for equipment maintenance.
- Enter accurate data into the departmental database, including Pacenet pacing reports.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and review technical reports prior to release.
- Participate in research projects, report findings for publication or internal use, and assist in developing new invasive and non invasive techniques.
- Attend national and international educational meetings to stay abreast of technological advances.
- Provide team members a voice in service development.
- Maximise the potential of all team members.

- Represent the Trust at regional and national conferences and working groups.
- Abide by Trust core behaviours, governing policies, and health and safety standards.

Person Specification Qualifications- BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent.
- Immediate Life Support (ILS).
- Registration with AHCS (RCCP).
- Membership of BHRS or equivalent association.
- Pacing experience at a Band 7 level.
- Experience with broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques (both non invasive and cath lab).
- Ability to deputise for senior colleagues.
- Active role in training junior staff.
- Clinical experience in CRM (implant and follow up).
- Exposure to paediatric pacing.
- Experience in giving clinical presentations.
- Excellent communication with colleagues and patients.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex pacing problems.
- Leadership/management qualifications or courses.
- Knowledge of stock management.
- Teaching/training as a work based assessor.

Salary: £58,133 to £65,261 per annum + HCA + RRP £6,000 pa (Annual review March 2027)
