Location: Standard work location in Milton Keynes + Client site (initial training period)
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Training Requirement: Must be flexible to attend Client on site training for up to 6 weeks (Monday-Friday, away from home - costs are covered)
About The RoleWe are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Cheque Processing Clerk to join our newly established team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys accuracy driven tasks, and wants to develop their skills within the financial services sector.
In this role, you will be responsible for processing a high volume of cheques, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth flow of funds through efficient financial data handling. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately process a high volume of cheques in line with internal procedures.
- Enter cheque information into financial systems and databases.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing reports to system balances.
- Investigate and resolve cheque processing issues or discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and efficient movement of funds.
- Adhere to all financial regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain well organized and accurate records.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation tasks.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to support smooth operational workflows.
- Strong data entry accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
- Banking experience is preferred but not essential - full training is provided.
- Flexibility to attend on site training at the client's location for up to 3 months.
- Ability to work away from home, Monday to Friday, during the training period.
