As Chemist I you will work within the EMEA R&D team located in Uithoorn, supporting our research activities working closely and supervised by the senior chemists. We offer a maternity leave coverage contract with a duration of 12 months.

What will you do?


  • Carry out prescribed tests and determinations, in order to answer questions and address customer problems and/or in order to test new raw material. All with Senior Chemist guidance and supervision.
  • Execute analytical tests in order to determine quantitative and qualitative composition of raw materials, formulations, competitive products and other chemical (field) samples.
  • Determine performance characteristics of competitive products using physical, instrumental and wet analysis techniques.
  • Clearly and orderly record all observations and data. Under guidance report results in a clear and concise manner to enhance technical exchange.
  • Maintain equipment, glassware and workspace in order to keep them clean and well-functioning. Properly dispose of all laboratory waste. Participate in ensuring good management of laboratory equipment and storage spaces for chemicals and raw materials. Comply with housekeeping rules.
  • Ensure that all equipment and machines in your area of control are managed with regards to safety, maintenance, calibration, and availability.



What do we look for?


  • Experience: A relevant internship or working experience in a similar role with benchwork responsability within the chemical sector.
  • All necessary product training is provided upon onboarding by our Senior Chemist team.
  • Ideal opportunity for someone who is motivated to work and looking to learn in an environment that combines chemical & physicochemical matters.


  • Education: Chemistry related bachelor degree studies. Interest or background in physical/organic chemistry, colloid chemistry and/or metallurgy.


  • Language skills: English at a professional level is required.


  • Soft skills: Fast learner, pragmatic, growth mind-set, good communicator and influencer, team player and intrinsic curiosity in the soft skills. High safety consciousness is a must. Safety is at the core of our culture.
