Chef for Country Pub

We are looking for a capable, diligent, experienced and reliable Chef to join our small team at The Jolly Waggoner - a real country pub located in the small Hertfordshire village of Ardeley, approximately 20mins from Stevenage. As part of Church Farm, our passion for local, seasonal food is at the heart of everything we do.

We want someone who is calm, falls in love with our pub and who is a good fit with our friendly and dedicated team. Applicants must be able to work wednesday to sunday with a passion for excellence maintaining consistently high standards. This is an great opportunity for the right candidate!

Working with our talented Head Chef and Pub Manager the role will be instrumental to taking our food offering forward with an enhanced menu and the aim of creating a "wow" for every customer.

Chef Responsibilities:

Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in time.
Helping to plan the menu, keeping in mind budget, and seasonality.
Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
Ensuring safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.

Chef Requirements:

Past relevant experience as a working chef.
Advanced knowledge of the culinary arts.
Perfectionism in sanitation and quality control.
Expert multitasking ability.
Great interpersonal skills.
Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply.
Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.
Passion and pride for delighting people.
