Are you a motivated individual with experience in cooking, working in a kitchen and enthusiasm to create inspiring menus? We are looking to recruit a motivated and talented individual to the Chef de Partie role based within the hospitality team on the main University of Plymouth campus.
About the roleYou will be based within our Hospitality Service, where you will:
- Be responsible for producing high quality bakes, cakes and food for hospitality events including external events and conferencing as well as fine dining.
- Also support the Head Chef with menu design and food concepts.
- Create and produce inspiring menus in line with modern food trends and seasonal produce.
- Be responsible for your unit's Gross Profit margin and overall quality of food.
- Meet required deadlines.
- Adhere to the company's set standards, and ensure a great customer experience.
- Work with the front of house teams and develop excellent relationships between the kitchen and front of house areas to deliver consistently high levels of service and customer satisfaction.
We seek to use local, fresh, seasonal and sustainable produce in all of our dishes and you must have a passion and drive to produce menus in line with modern food trends.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, for 52 weeks a year on a permanent basis.

As part of your contract, you will be required to work a maximum of 8 Saturdays supporting Student Engagement Days.
We're currently unable to sponsor this role under the Skilled Worker visa route. However, we welcome applicants who already have the right to work in the UK, including those on visa routes we can accept (e.g. Graduate visas).
What we're looking forYou will:
- Have an experience of working in a variety of different styles of catering units
- Have a customer focussed mind set and strive to deliver on and exceed students, staff and visitor's expectations.
- Have a passion for food and be able to demonstrate innovation within our food service offers.
- Be able to multi task with the ability to work well under pressure with experience in high volume production.
- Have patisserie experience, although this is not essenital.
