About the Role

Temporary weekday work in school kitchens, term time only, with competitive salary, weekly pay and weekends off. This contract offers potential for ongoing placements and permanent roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious and balanced meals for students and staff.
• Plan menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements.
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Manage stock, order supplies, and minimise waste.
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants during service.
• Adhere to all food safety and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a senior chef, preferably in a school or similar environment.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills.
• Passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens, plus additional compliance training (provided free of charge).
