Job Description

Location: Nottingham & Nottinghamshire (Hybrid)
Hours: Part-time - 22.5 to 30 hours per week

At Everyturn Mental Health, we believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality mental health support. We're looking for a passionate and qualified Counsellor (Counselling for Depression) to join our Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies Service on a part-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose driven organisation where your work will make a genuine difference to people experiencing common mental health difficulties. If you're looking to develop your career in a compassionate, supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.

About the role

As an accredited counsellor with a Counselling for Depression (CfD) qualification, you will deliver evidence based therapy to clients experiencing challenges such as low mood, depression, and anxiety. Your ability to build safe, trusting therapeutic relationships will play a key role in helping people achieve meaningful and lasting change.

This is a hybrid role, combining remote and face to face working. You will provide therapy through video appointments and spend at least one day per week delivering in person sessions from one of our Nottinghamshire hubs.

To support client accessibility and service demand, you will also work at least one evening shift per week (until 8pm).

As part of a high performing Talking Therapies team, you will work as an autonomous practitioner while benefiting from a strong clinical support structure. You'll receive high quality clinical supervision, guidance from experienced clinical leaders, and opportunities to continue developing your practice within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

About you

We're keen to hear from you if you:

  • Hold a Diploma in Counselling that meets British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or equivalent accreditation requirements
  • Have a NICE compliant Counselling for Depression (CfD) qualification
  • Are professionally accredited with one of the following bodies:
    • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Accredited status required - membership alone is not sufficient)
    • National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (Accredited Professional Registrant status required)
    • UK Council for Psychotherapy
  • Have experience working in a primary care mental health setting
  • Have supported individuals experiencing common mental health difficulties, such as anxiety and depression
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Have a good understanding of Talking Therapies services and the stepped care model
