Job Purpose:
Provide day-to-day supervision of catering staff within the patient meals service, ensuring staff are effectively deployed to meet service demands and patient requirements.
Allocate duties and work schedules, monitor performance, and provide guidance, support, and instruction to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
Ensure catering staff comply with all food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control policies, taking prompt action to address any non-compliance.
Conduct regular checks to ensure meals are prepared, transported, and served in line with dietary, cultural, and clinical requirements, including special and therapeutic diets.
Support staff training, induction, and ongoing development, identifying training needs and assisting with coaching and performance improvement.
Act as the first point of contact for staff queries, concerns, and operational issues, escalating matters appropriately in line with Trust procedures.
Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and conduct, addressing issues in accordance with first-line management responsibilities and Trust policies.
Ensure staff present a professional appearance at all times and deliver a courteous, patient focused service.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all patient and service related information is handled securely and confidentially at all times.
Working Pattern: 5 days a week - working weekends and weekday. Either early 8 4pm or late shift 12 8pm
