Position:We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team in delivering high quality catering services to patients, staff, and visitors across the CSS East Sector.
Hours:37 hours per week.
Monday - Friday: Hours (7.5 hour shift) between 8.00am - 6.30pm
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
What you will do:Working closely with the Catering Management Team, the successful candidate will bring proven experience of working within a large-scale catering production environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering production across both Patient and Retail services, ensuring consistently high standards, robust compliance, and a positive team culture. Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:- Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Diploma
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 (or equivalent)
- Certificate in Catering Management (or equivalent)
- Experience and knowledge of working within a large scale cooking team
- Strong knowledge of production and current food safety legislation and industry best practice
- As Catering Production & Quality Coordinator, you will be expected to:
- Provide proactive leadership, management, and direction to the catering production team
- Support training, development, and competency assessment of staff
- Maintain effective communication within the team and with internal and external stakeholders and maintaining reporting
- Ensure compliance with COSHH requirements, Food safety regulations, Health & Safety policies, Environmental and sustainability standards
- Ensure the highest standards of service delivery and customer care
- Maximise income streams and identify opportunities to enhance service efficiency and value
