Number of Positions: 1
Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation and Cooking
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Salary: £23,604 per annum

The governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated Catering Manager to join our school catering team from September 2025.

The management of the school kitchen will transfer to the school in September and we are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to oversee the efficient management of the kitchen.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective running of the in house school catering service, ensuring that high standards are maintained including school food regulations, food safety and health and safety requirements, financial targets and customer service whilst providing a welcoming and efficient service to the pupils.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will be able to supervise and lead the catering team.

They will have a passion for serving high quality, freshly cooked meals, focussing on delivering the highest quality food to maximise meal uptake whilst ensuring value for money and meeting School Food Standards and food hygiene and safety regulations.

Birchfields is a very large, multicultural school and we are looking to appoint support staff who can work well with pupils and staff.The school catering provision provides an essential service and our School Catering team will form an integral part of our school community.
