Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming school in Warrington (WA5) for a Catering Assistant to join their team on an immediate start basis.

Hours: 11:15am - 2:15pm

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in catering, hospitality, or a school kitchen who is looking for a rewarding role working within an education setting.

The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the school kitchen team with the day-to-day preparation and service of meals, helping to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments
• Supporting the kitchen team with general food preparation
• Setting up and clearing dining areas
• Washing up and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Supporting with stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
• Working effectively as part of a busy catering team

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, kitchen or similar role
• A good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety -Level 2 preferred
• A positive and reliable attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
• A friendly and approachable manner when working with pupils and staff
• A valid DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment

School or education-based catering experience is desirable but not essential.
