Job description:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Catering Assistant to join our catering team in Craigavon. In this role, you will support the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to patients, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer care. This is an important position that contributes directly to patient wellbeing by providing timely and appropriate meal services in a healthcare environment.

Job Description:

• Assist in the safe handling, storage, and distribution of food within the hospital
• Deliver meals to wards while ensuring accuracy of patient orders
• Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and service areas
• Support stock management, including checking deliveries and rotating supplies
• Ensure all equipment is used and stored safely
• Assist with clearing meal trays and maintaining a tidy ward environment
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-responsibility healthcare setting
• Adhere to hospital policies, including health and safety regulations and confidentiality standards

Essential Criteria:

• Experience in catering or hospitality preferred
• Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Organised, reliable, and punctual
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible with shifts, including weekends
