Catering Assistant - South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service

Post Title: Catering Assistant Contract: Permanent Salary: Grade 2 (£25,949) pro rata (Part time equivalent £14,027) Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible) Location: Training & Development Centre, Handsworth, Sheffield, S13 8QA.

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday 9 am - 1 pm (occasional weekends & evenings).

The overall purpose of the role is to prepare and serve food, manage stock, handle cash, and perform general kitchen and dining room duties, ensuring food safety procedures are followed.

• Preparation and serving of food.
• General kitchen and dining room duties, including cleaning, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables.
• Carry out food safety procedures.
• Put away and rotate stock.
• Operate till and handle cash reconciliation.

• Previous experience working in a canteen or similar environment.
• Familiarity with food allergies.
• Basic food hygiene certificate (training will be provided if not held).
