Job Title: Catering Assistant

Contract: Full time, Permanent (35 hours per week) & Part time (20 hours per week), Permanent

Salary: £23,500-£26,950 per annum (Full Time Equivalent)

Location: Cambridge, Whittlesford (on occasion for full time employees)

Availability required on site across all shift patterns (07:00-14:30, 07:30-15:00, 08:00-15:30, 09:00-16:30)

About the role

As a Catering Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our hospitality service preparing food, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring every customer interaction is a positive one.

This is a hands on, customer facing role where no two days are the same. You'll work across our catering areas and events, supporting a team that's known for its warmth, professionalism, and dedication to excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent customer service and high quality food presentation.
  • Support food preparation and maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Operate tills and cashless systems.
  • Assist with hospitality events and ensure consistency across all catering services.
  • Comply with food safety, health and safety, and internal policies.
About You

As a Catering Assistant, you'll be a team player with a positive, can do attitude and a genuine passion for customer service. Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience in a high volume catering or hospitality environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A Level 2 Food hygiene qualification (or willingness to obtain within 1 month)
  • Good understanding of food safety standards
