Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking a highly organised and proactive, Catering Administrator to join our dynamic Catering team. This pivotal role supports the efficient running of our Catering operations across the University.
About the RoleYou will provide professional administrative support to the Central Catering Office, including processing invoices, maintaining financial and stock management records, supporting EPOS systems, and assisting with hospitality ordering platforms.
You will be a key point of contact for catering enquiries, ensuring product information, prices, menus, and promotions are accurate and up to date. The role also involves liaising with colleagues across Finance, Catering Management, external suppliers and other Stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Process catering invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain stock management and financial administration records
- Support and update EPOS systems, including product lists, menus, and promotions
- Provide analytical data, including generating reports, charts, or tables from EPOS data
- Support monthly stock takes and annual audits
- Liaise with suppliers, Finance, and Catering managers
- Provide general administrative support such as scheduling meetings, maintaining office systems, and assisting with projects
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills and can convey information clearly
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Is proficient with Microsoft Office applications and able to learn new systems
- Has experience working in a busy administrative environment, ideally within catering or a similar sector
- Shows commitment to excellent customer service and continuous improvement
- GCSEs (A-C) including Maths and English, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent experience
- Experience with financial processes and/or stock management systems
- Experience working in a large or complex organisation (desirable: previous catering industry experience)
