About the Role

Category Management

Category Managers at Amazon are responsible for overall category growth, customer experience, and driving long-term category strategy. They anticipate customer needs, incorporate them into the functional roadmap, and drive major enhancements to improve customer experience based on their knowledge of marketplace trends and macro environment data.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities Include

The successful candidate will act as the business owner, responsible for driving long-term change through critical interventions, projects, and programs in areas such as selection, customer experience, delivery, and the overall customer journey. They must be effective leaders and communicators, working with key partners and internal teams. Strong business judgment, ownership, and relationship management skills are essential. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence long-term category strategy through impactful workstreams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience with Excel
  • 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiation and results delivery
  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience managing large data sets to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotion, inventory management, and product development
