Are you ready to shape the future of Amazon's construction procurement landscape in Europe? Amazon's Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is seeking a Category Manager to lead strategic construction procurement activities across our portfolio of multi-million-dollar real estate projects.

As a key member of our Construction Category Procurement Pillar, you'll have the opportunity to impact Amazon's growth and innovation in Europe. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of construction trades including civil, architectural works, interior fit-out, MEP systems, and fire protection.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute construction sourcing strategies across supply chain tiers and trades in Europe.
  2. Enhance Amazon's competitiveness, ensure supply continuity, and mitigate risks across regions.
  3. Identify synergies, benchmark, innovate, eliminate waste, and realize economies of scale to add value.
  4. Drive cost optimization through negotiation, standardization, and supply chain improvements.
  5. Build relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and partners for effective collaboration.
  6. Negotiate, execute, and manage framework agreements.
  7. Support sustainability initiatives aligned with Amazon's Climate Pledge.
  8. Provide market intelligence and strategic insights to stakeholders.
  9. Own targets and identify process improvements for the construction category.
  10. Innovate procurement tools and processes to support the lifecycle.
A Day in the Life
  1. Lead procurement processes including prequalification, tender management, evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  2. Assess supplier capabilities, evaluate proposals, and promote value engineering.
  3. Procure sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective construction services.
  4. Collaborate with technical teams to optimize specifications.
  5. Serve as the interface between project delivery and internal teams.
  6. Support supplier performance management.
  7. Develop procurement strategies based on industry and supply chain insights.
  8. Prepare high-quality reports and influence senior decision-making.
About the Team

This role can be based in Luxembourg, London, or Barcelona. You will join a growing team that values strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and leadership. Collaborate with various teams to shape and implement innovative strategies, delivering value, sustainability, and best practices across Europe.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in procurement, contract, or commercial management within construction.
  • Experience developing procurement strategies for various construction supply chain tiers.
  • Understanding of construction industry contracts and processes.
  • Knowledge of multiple construction trades.
  • Experience negotiating large-scale construction contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or Quantity Surveying.
