Category Manager, Books, Amazon

Overview

Own Category topline, core flywheel inputs of selection, speed, pricing and deep engagement and scope to impact customer experience and marketing engagement.

Responsibilities

• Own the Books category topline and inputs, and influence programs to build a solid trajectory for Books P&L through core inputs, brand management, customer delighters, conversion and ASP growth.
• Lead strategic initiatives for the category (e.g., Used Books, Global Books Selection scale-up in India, and monetization avenues).
• Independent ownership of a category with the ability to influence external (Seller) and internal (Accounts Management, Pricing, Selection, Product and Marketing) teams to drive business growth.
• Work with mechanisms to influence leaders across teams and drive execution with rigor; manage reporting cadence for Amazon India leadership.
• Be a passionate customer and category advocate with strong execution skills, stakeholder management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Demonstrate leadership and effective communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams and own a proactive approach with ownership and customer obsession.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of Excel experience
• 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results
• Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
• Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing large data sets and using them to drive performance and process improvements
• Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
