Casual Mini Bus Driver - Job Vacancy

We are looking to recruit a Mini Bus Driver on a casual contract to join our friendly team.
The role is primarily after school hours, providing safe transportation for students attending a range of school activities, including PE and sports clubs, after-school clubs, revision sessions, detentions, fixtures and other school events.
Previous experience of driving a minibus would be an advantage. Your driving licence must include the D1 category. Candidates will either need to hold a current MiDAS certificate or be willing to undertake this mandatory training.

- Safely transport students using the school minibus for after-school activities, including PE and sports clubs, revision sessions, detentions, fixtures and other school events.
- Carry out regular vehicle safety checks, as well as fuelling and cleaning the minibus to the required standards.
- Complete a logbook and driving records for each journey.
- Report any vehicle defects, damage or accidents immediately to the Business Manager or Site Manager.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and codes of practice to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students, staff and other road users.
Hours will be offered based on school need with as much notice as possible. Payment for hours worked will be on completion of a time sheet.

Ferndown Upper School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
