Case Manager
Posted 58 minutes 28 seconds ago by City + Capital
City + Capital are currently representing an established and growing specialist property finance lender that is looking to appoint an experienced Case Manager to its Credit & Operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in bridging, development or specialist property finance who wants to take genuine ownership of transactions from initial acceptance through to completion. The position offers significant exposure to the full lending lifecycle, alongside clear longer-term progression into senior case management or underwriting.
The Company
Our client is a specialist property finance lender providing short-term secured lending solutions across residential and commercial property throughout England and Wales.
The business has developed a strong reputation within the intermediary market through its ability to combine commercial decision-making with a fast, structured and dependable lending process.
Operating with an experienced and close-knit team, the lender continues to grow its lending activity and relationships across the specialist finance market. Maintaining a high standard of case management is therefore an important part of its continued growth.
As a result, the business is looking to strengthen its Credit & Operations function with a Case Manager who can take responsibility for progressing transactions efficiently while providing an excellent service to brokers and borrowers.
Role Overview
The Case Manager will take ownership of lending cases from the point a broker confirms they wish to proceed, managing each transaction through underwriting, due diligence, valuation, legal work and ultimately completion.
Working closely with senior underwriters, brokers, borrowers, solicitors, valuers and other professional parties, you will ensure that cases continue to progress and that potential delays or issues are identified and escalated appropriately.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate case records, coordinating outstanding requirements and ensuring all necessary checks and documentation are completed before drawdown.
This is a hands-on position where organisation, communication and attention to detail are equally important. You will be expected to understand exactly where each case sits and proactively drive transactions towards completion.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a portfolio of live specialist property finance cases
- Act as a key point of contact for brokers throughout the transaction
- Coordinate valuation, legal and other professional requirements
- Complete KYC, AML, identity and relevant company checks
- Gather and review supporting financial and due diligence information
- Monitor outstanding offer conditions and documentation
- Instruct and liaise with valuers, solicitors and other professional parties
- Support underwriters with the preparation and progression of credit cases
- Proactively manage the legal process and identify potential delays
- Escalate matters relating to credit, security or loan structure appropriately
- Complete detailed pre-completion checks
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
- Support a smooth completion process for brokers and borrowers
- Prepare completed cases for handover to the portfolio management function
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple transactions simultaneously. You will need strong attention to detail while also having the confidence to communicate effectively with brokers, solicitors and other stakeholders.
- At least 1 year of relevant case management, loan administration, completions or property finance experience
- Experience within bridging, development, specialist property lending or a relevant brokerage environment
- Understanding of the short-term secured lending lifecycle
- Experience progressing cases through valuation and legal processes
- Working knowledge of KYC and AML requirements
- Comfortable managing multiple live cases at different stages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident dealing directly with brokers and professional parties
- Good numerical and Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
- Refurbishment or development finance experience would be advantageous
- Experience with more complex property finance transactions would also be beneficial
On Offer
A basic salary of £30,000 - £40,000 is available, dependent upon experience, with some flexibility potentially available for an exceptional candidate.
The role is based in Central London, with the successful candidate expected to work predominantly from the office alongside the wider lending and credit team. There is scope to work from home one day per week.
Importantly, the position offers genuine longer-term development. A successful Case Manager will have the opportunity to progress towards Senior Case Management or Underwriting, with increasing exposure to credit assessment and the wider lending decision-making process as their experience develops.
For someone looking to build a longer-term career within specialist property finance, this represents an excellent opportunity to join a growing lender where progression can be driven by performance and capability.
