Job Description

Due to continued successful growth, We have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem Repairs and Maintenance team at Orbit Housing as a Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade which uses core Carpentry skills, basic Plumbing and a range of other Multi trade skills which can include, Tiling, Flooring, Windows.The Carpenter Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch across Stratford upon Avon and surrounding areas so travel is essential.Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pmWe provide a Company Van, Fuel card, Power Tools, PPE and an annual bonus!

Our Services

Fortem's contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and Re-Roofing.We are currently rated as 4.5 on Glassdoor and 93% of staff would recommend to a friend!

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completing Full carpentry and basic plumbing repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
  • Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
  • Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
  • Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices
  • Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
  • Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
  • Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
  • Operating within the company's occupational road risk policies and procedures
  • Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.
What you will need

Essential Criteria:

  • NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Carpentry/ OR Qualified by experience will be considered
  • Full UK driving licence (Max 5 points) and no recent driving bans
  • Must be able to pass basic DBS check

Desirable but not essential:

  • Social Housing experience
