Job Description

Introduction

Are you an experienced CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist looking for a part-time opportunity where you will be part of a supportive and experienced team working 22.5 hours per week providing Tier 4 inpatient services to young people with eating disorders?

Join Brighton and Hove Clinic, a specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder service for children and young people aged 12 to 18 years. You will be providing evidence-based and focused treatment programmes tailored to each young person's needs.

You will be registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a license to practice, with experience in CAMHS Eating Disorders and leading multidisciplinary teams.

As part of this role, you will participate in the on-call rota for a small group of CAMHS & ED services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a caseload as RC of the ward
  2. Participate in the assessment and management of children and young people referred to the Service
  3. Assess physical health and document findings within Care notes and weekly ICR meetings
  4. Ensure the completion of professional reports such as ICRs, CPA, Tribunals within set timelines
  5. Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act
  6. Attend CETRs as needed
  7. Provide leadership, supervision, reflection, and risk management to key workers
  8. Participate in the CAMHS Consultant on-call rota
  9. Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  10. Uphold principles of Clinical Governance and adhere to organisational policies
  11. Participate in an Annual Appraisal Programme and develop Personal Development Plans
Requirements:
  • Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a license to practice
  • Experience in CAMHS eating disorders is desirable
  • Medically qualified with MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Innovative, with leadership ability and capacity to initiate decisions
