We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist on a substantive basis as part of our comprehensive CAMHS Service in North Derbyshire, based across our two sites at Chesterfield and Buxton or solely in Buxton, depending on the successful candidate's preference.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible approach. They should be a team player who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary setting with highly experienced staff while being capable of providing clinical leadership for the team.

We offer £10,000 in addition to basic salary on commencement, with an additional £10,000 after two years in post. An additional SPA beyond the usual allocation of 1.5 PAs will also be allocated to enable the appointee to undertake defined Care Unit support. Benefits will be pro rata for part time.

Qualifications

• MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
• CCT in child and adolescent psychiatry.
• S12 Approval.
• Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise or within 6 months of the date of interview.
• Specialist interest or additional qualifications in other areas of specialty.

Experience

• Experience of working with young people and their families/carers.
• Good knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatry and broad medical knowledge.
• Training in CBT/IPT/brief intervention psychotherapy.
• Other special interest/expertise relevant to the post.

Skills

• Clinical supervision experience/skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Ability to undertake training/mentoring of clinical staff and enthusiasm for education.
