C++ Developer

We are recruiting for a SC Cleared UKEO C++ Developer on contract to be based at our client's site in Bristol.

Overview of department:

Our team, at our Bristol facility, develops solutions for the next generation of Defence Systems; developing evolving products whilst maintaining our enviable reputation for safety, performance, and dependability.

Responsibilities:

This is a very hands-on role and requires the continued design and development of Command and Control architectures, and the instantiations for future products. It is perfect for a Software Engineer who is proactive and takes the initiative.

Skillset/experience required:

1. A strong background in software engineering, its realisation, and system-wide impact.
2. Experience of working in C++.
3. Collaborative, open approach to development and the ability to work well in a team while maintaining momentum during development.
4. Experience of working across the entire software development process, from engaging with requirement authorities to automated target integration and proving, supported with effective documentation.
5. Experience with new tools, techniques, and approaches that might enable process evolution to improve efficiency and sustainability.
6. Experience in other languages such as Ada, QT.
7. Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real-Time Operating Systems.
8. Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, IEC61508, and restricted coding standards like MISRA C.
