The Role

As a Buyer (Grade C), you will drive the commercial performance of your category across all formats. You will be the key decision-maker with the autonomy to deliver your category strategy.

What you will be doing
• Deliver and track the key commercial KPIs of sales and profitability.
• Curate the optimum assortment for our customers to meet all commercial targets.
• Generate a pipeline of value-creating initiatives to boost sales and profitability.
• Be responsible for the category and trade plan aligned with the overall business plan.
• Negotiate with and manage the supplier base, including developing a clear supplier strategy and maintaining/improving terms.
• Define the pricing and promotional strategies for the category.
• Source and develop products/suppliers in line with strategy.
• Deliver projects and trials within your area with cross-functional engagement.
• Contribute to the annual budget planning process.
What we are looking for
• Previous buying or commercial experience (desirable).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Strong numeracy skills and data analysis ability.
