Job DescriptionAn exciting opportunity to join our Camera, Tickets & Collisions Unit as a Business Support Assistant (BSA) working at Stevenage Police Station.
About CTCCTC is responsible for the administration of speed enforcement on the roads across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, through fixed and mobile speed, and red light cameras, processing tickets for endorsable and non endorsable offences and the administration of traffic offence reports. CTC also administers all road traffic collisions across the three counties. The unit prosecutes first hearing guilty pleas for traffic offences, prepares road traffic offence files for court, investigates some camera offences and collisions, and assists the public with enquiries and insurance claims.
The unit's main role is to increase road safety, working with the Road Policing Unit and local partners, to change attitudes and behaviour on the roads, ultimately saving lives and reducing crime.
The RoleThe main purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to enable the efficient provision of service and to contribute to the vision, purpose, and values of Hertfordshire Constabulary.
Key Responsibilities- Deal with a range of enquiries, some complex, either in written form, personal contact or by telephone or webchat.
- Provide information to members of the public.
- Liaise with outside organisations and suppliers, internal and external.
- Operate computer based systems effectively.
- Provide a broad range of administrative support.
- Support the wider CTC and be ready to undertake various other administrative tasks as required.
You will need effective verbal and written communications skills, confidence, attention to detail and a positive, flexible approach to working.
- Experience using IT, good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
- Experience in an administrative role.
- Experience operating a range of office equipment.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
Full time 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08 00 and Friday 08 30. On occasion the post holder may be required to travel within the Tri Force area to attend meetings and training. Possession of a valid UK driving licence is an advantage. These requirements may be negotiable and reimbursed in line with Force Policy.
