Job Description

Senior Business Support OfficerLocation: Haylock House, Kettering NN15 6EYPay: £15.56 per hour Working Hours: 37 hours per week, flexible on start/finish time, 30 minutes lunch break Contract: until February 2027 (potential for extension) Start Date: ASAP

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for a Senior Business Support Officer to support two busy service teams within Adult Social Care. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, adaptable and people-focused administrator to join a highly collaborative service working closely with clinical staff, managers, and the public.

About the Role

You will provide high level operational and administrative support across two teams:Assistive Technology TeamOccupational Therapy TeamThe role requires excellent organisational skills and the confidence to work closely with clinical leads, a Therapy Manager, and cross departmental teams.You will play a key role in supporting statutory services and ensuring the smooth running of systems, reporting, and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities Operational & Administrative Duties
  • Manage two public facing inboxes, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Support audits, file searches and Subject Access Requests (SARs) in collaboration with the Business Team.
  • Arrange interpreters for home visits across North Northamptonshire.
  • Organise training sessions, DSE assessments, and feedback systems.
  • Produce a quarterly newsletter by pulling together relevant service information.
Data, Reporting & Systems
  • Use ERP systems, casework systems and Microsoft Excel to produce accurate reports, statistics and performance information.
  • Cross reference data through existing reporting systems and ensure KPI monitoring.
  • Assist with the Disability Facilities Grant (DFG) process, including ordering, finance tracking, and supporting housing adaptations administration.
  • Create process maps and workflows to support continuous improvement.
Communication & Public Contact
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Customer Services, the Web Team and internal stakeholders for referrals and queries.
  • Support responses to general enquiries and ensure excellent customer service delivery.
Additional Duties
  • Assist with digital improvement initiatives.
  • Attend joint clinical home visits when required (driver essential).
  • General administrative duties to support the wider service.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, data reporting and learning new systems quickly.
  • Comfortable working with clinical and operational teams in a fast paced environment.
  • Proactive, reliable and committed to providing a high-quality service.
  • Experienced in administration within a busy office setting (public sector or social care desirable).
  • A competent communicator who works well with both the public and professionals.
  • Able to attend home visits and travel as required.
Hybrid Working

Training will be delivered onsite. Once trained, hybrid working may apply with office attendance as required.
