Business Intelligence Engineer

At Colruyt Group, data is the most important basis for making decisions. Within the Data & Analytics division, as a BI Engineer you will help lay the foundations of our business intelligence and turn your valuable analysis into concrete solutions.

Your responsibilities as BI Engineer:

• You take care of BI assignments end-to-end. You make agreements with the partner, estimate the necessary resources, coordinate and follow up until delivery to the end user.
• Based on functional analyses, you translate partners needs into efficient technical solutions, through modelling and structuring the data.
• You draw up test scenarios and use them to carry out the necessary tests on the data warehouse. You also coordinate the user acceptance tests and design and develop the business layer (data marts), on which you perform tests.
• As a BI Engineer, you often work together with report analysts, the data management team, information stewards, business analysts and data scientists.

You will work in Halle and can work from home up to 3 days a week or in one of our regional offices (Mechelen, Haasrode, Zwijnaarde ).

Profile

• Knowledge and experience - You have a bachelor or master degree or equivalent competences thanks to your experience. In addition, you have at least 3 years experience in a similar position. You have knowledge of requirements analysis, agile working, user experience, ETL, SQL, data models and flows and dimensional modelling (Kimball).
• Knowledge of Data Vault Modelling is a plus.
• Customer-oriented - You easily capture needs from partners and have good diplomatic skills.
• Analytical - You quickly grasp complex issues and can put information in a broader perspective. You can translate business requirements into data solutions.
• Quality first - You consider quality of paramount importance, think in a solution-oriented way and monitor the balance between your partner's wishes and optimisations that may arise during the process.
• Language skills - In an IT environment, English is often the working language. You are therefore fluent in English and speak either Dutch or French.
