Business Intelligence Analyst

W&A is delighted to be supporting a boutique-scaled financial services organisation in the appointment of a Business Intelligence Analyst. This newly created role offers the chance to shape a new, growing team, with a strong emphasis on automation and reporting. Based in Edinburgh city centre, the position is offered on a hybrid basis.

The Opportunity

You'll be joining a brand-new team. The role is pivotal in building out the firms reporting and analytics capabilities, driving improvements in data quality, and enabling smarter decision-making across the business. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the organisation's transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, build and enhancement of the new business intelligence function
• Develop and maintain reports to meet business and regulatory requirements
• Partner with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into practical solutions
• Assist with regulatory submissions and external reporting obligations
• Provide data insights to bank-wide projects, supporting key decision-making
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline existing reporting processes
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure effective service delivery

What You'll Bring

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Exposure to BI and automation tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, VBA, Alteryx, or Power Query
• Solid understanding of data handling, transformation, and analysis principles
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and perform under pressure
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Prior financial services experience is desirable, though not essential
