Business Development Manager
Location: London or Leeds - Remote
Salary: Competitive
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

What you'll do:
As a Business Development Manager, your role is to win new business through exceptional consulting, sales, and negotiation skills. You will target large, multi-site, Blue Chip private sector organisations with complex compliance requirements and centralised procurement functions. Representing Ground Control with professionalism and integrity, you will build and nurture strong client relationships to drive revenue and long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development:
Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities with national clients across relevant sectors.
Serve as a key representative of Ground Control, building brand awareness and expanding market presence.
Generate qualified leads, secure meetings, and manage the full sales cycle from introduction to close.
Identify and capitalise on cross-selling opportunities across Ground Control's service divisions (e.g., Winter Maintenance, Arboriculture).
Client Engagement:
Deliver high-quality client presentations and proposals with a strong emphasis on solution selling.
Efficiently manage all prospects through CRM tools, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Commercial & Pricing Strategy
Apply strong commercial acumen to ensure pricing is competitive and profitable.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong working relationships with both client representatives and internal colleagues.
Collaborate closely with the Operations team to ensure seamless client handovers and continued service excellence.
Display outstanding negotiation and relationship-building skills with the ability to deeply understand client business drivers.

Experience in a similar role, ideally in a similar industry
Take ownership of performance KPIs and utilise available support to meet and exceed targets.
Self-motivated to maintain high standards and continuously improve your sales approach.
