Job Title: Business Development Director

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, a leading provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, is recruiting a Business Development Director to join the team located throughout Great Britain.

Purpose of the role

To develop and close new business opportunities that meet customer requirements at profitable prices without compromising service quality within CBRE's target market sectors. To support assigned BDMs and manage, train, and develop Sales Executives under their control.

Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate and successfully close sales opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets within target markets, as agreed with the Group Sales Director and Divisional Managing Director.
  2. Build and maintain long-term professional relationships with existing, new, and potential clients, providing excellent after-sales support.
  3. Identify and develop a long-term active pipeline, exploring existing markets and targeting new opportunities.
  4. Support BDMs, create Personal Development Plans (PDPs), and ensure they receive appropriate training and development.
  5. Manage and develop Sales Executives, creating PDPs to support their success.
  6. Utilize innovative methods to develop profitable new business sources.
  7. Ensure accuracy and quality in all sales reporting.
  8. Develop and deliver exceptional sales and tender documents and presentations, ensuring high standards and quality content.
  9. Represent CBRE at industry events and networking opportunities to enhance company profile and professionalism.
  10. Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and market trends.
  11. Keep BU Leader informed of activities, attend monthly sales reviews, and coordinate with support functions for compliance and opportunity management.
  12. Ensure understanding and adherence to sign-off procedures for new business opportunities.
  13. Maintain contract documentation for tenders and re-bids using the Knowledge Base.
  14. Participate actively in divisional meetings and reviews.
  15. Review tenders and PQQ documents for quality and commercial viability.
  16. Complete ILM Accelerate and Tomorrow's Leaders programs.
  17. Own all re-bids within the division.
Person Specification

Education

  • Good basic education; higher qualifications like HNC/D or degree are beneficial.

Experience

  • Minimum five years proven sales/business development experience from relevant sectors.
  • Experience in preparing high-quality sales documents.
  • Experience delivering high-level presentations.
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders including staff, suppliers, and clients.

Aptitudes

  • Target-driven and comfortable in high-pressure sales environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and methodical.

Character

  • Customer-focused with a strong team spirit.
  • Influential, confident in face-to-face, telephone, and written communication.
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize and work under pressure.
