Job Description
The Business Development Director's main mission is to manage a team of up to 5 Business Development Managers and to pursue important new value-added opportunities/leads that are not managed within Accor today and convert them into new business for a given region. Working hand in hand with Accor sales, operations, or hotels to capture key B2B revenues. Being responsible for developing and implementing a sales strategy following the overall sales ENA region direction. Building strategic partnerships with local private or public industry actors such as convention bureaus, tourism offices, and others. The Business Development Director is driven by 3 KPIs: new business signed, size of the pipeline developed, and the opportunities confirmed (converted and grown into managed accounts).
Main accountabilities:
- Manage a team of up to 5 Business Development Managers. Support them in building their strategy for their region taking into account the local competition and the main guidelines of the group. Follow their performance, coach, and ensure excellent reporting.
- Develop and implement a local business development growth strategy for each BDM and for the region the BDM will look after. Identify opportunities in target markets for Accor organization's products and services. Elevate tools and support at disposal to craft the best go-to-market strategy with key profitable prospects.
- Generate leads through cold calling prospective clients or networking at trade shows. Leverage the strong network within Accor to develop a strong pipeline. Assess client needs and the company's ability to meet those needs.
- Develop and nurture relationships with customers: prospects or clients that are already in development phase. Move people from the top of the sales funnel to the goal of being a signed customer.
- Implement productive partnerships with local private and public actors. Develop a common business strategy to attract important leads in his region and in the regions managed by each BDM.
- Prepare status reports on goals. Use customer relations management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce, to manage interactions.
- Keep up with the latest industry developments, including competition in regions.
Qualifications
University degree - level Bachelor.
5+ years of sales management experience in the hotel industry or related field.
People management experience - able to manage a team based in various countries.
Outgoing person, interested in sales strategy. Self-starter - go-to-market skills.
Love to work with people and able to accept rejection with grace.
Proven history of overachieving results in a large, high-growth company is a plus.
Result-oriented - at ease with data.
Strong character with a strong willingness to win.
Strategic planning & sales management skills.
Excellent communication & negotiating skills with clients. Ability to close complex deals.
Advanced/Fluent level of English.
