Business Developer

We are seeking a full-time Business Developer to join our team, focusing on consultancy projects in Asia, Latin America, Subsaharan Africa and Europe for the major International Financial Institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

You will be instrumental in our commercial and bidding processes, preparing and managing Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and supporting proposals for international IFIs and local tenders in multiple languages. You will be working with our diverse team of international energy sector consultants and professional staff in the areas/tasks listed below.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and prepare national and international tenders.
• Ensure compliance with administrative, technical, and financial aspects of tender documents.
• Coordinate with other departments to track the bidding process.
• Maintain and manage the tender database and relevant documentation.
• Collaborate on writing and reviewing proposals and tender documents.
• Participate in client and partner meetings for the preparation and defence of bids.
• Support business development and identify opportunities that align with MRC's work.
• Manage and organise corporate information and data, such as CVs and project databases.
• Develop client relationships, commercial partnerships, and conduct market research.
• Assist in strategic marketing activities for consultancy and engineering in the energy sector.
• Demonstrate planning, organisational, management and communication skills.

Required skills and qualifications:

• University degree. Postgraduate degree in Business Development, International Trade, International Development, or a similar field (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in business development or tender preparation.
• Familiarity with international tender processes and multilateral organizations.
• Knowledge of the energy sector would be a significant advantage.
• Residency and work permit in Spain.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong organisation skills and multi tasking abilities.
• Detail oriented for quality assurance.
• Graphic design skills would be an advantage.
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language (European languages preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Office and other professional software applications.
• Positive outlook, enjoys teamwork, and can take initiative for independent tasks.

Compensation and benefits:

• Remuneration is commensurate with education and experience.
• The position is based at MRC headquarters office in Madrid, Spain. You will be able to work in a hybrid format.
