Business Client Manager

MCS Group are working with Mid and East Borough Council to recruit for a Business Client Manager on a temporary basis.
This role is key for implementing, leading and managing Council's engagement with new and existing businesses located within the Borough, as part of the Integrated Economic Development Strategy for Mid and East Antrim to achieve the strategic aims of fostering business growth, increasing business productivity and the creation of jobs in the local economy.
Key Responsibilities Business Engagement & Client SupportIdentify, recruit and manage a portfolio of businesses and social enterprises through structured growth support programmes.
Conduct business diagnostics, analyse business plans and financial information, and provide tailored advice to accelerate growth.
Act as the main point of contact for client businesses, building strong relationships and ensuring access to appropriate local and regional supports.
Monitor client performance using analytical tools and implement corrective actions where required.
Deliver business workshops, roadshows, training and consultancy to support enterprise development.
Lead and manage core business growth programmes in line with agreed objectives and funder requirements.
Procure and manage mentors and professional advisers to support programme delivery and target achievement.
Oversee programme monitoring, evaluation, reporting and CRM data management.
Chair stakeholder groups and collaborate with economic development partners to coordinate support provision.
Represent the Council at external committees, partnerships and business events.
Support the development and implementation of corporate, community and economic development strategies.
Contribute to the sourcing and management of external funding programmes.
Develop collaborative partnerships across government, agencies and the private sector to strengthen the local economy.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of economic policy and adapt delivery accordingly.
Manage programme budgets, financial claims and risk in accordance with governance and funding requirements.
Ensure value for money, compliance with financial procedures and implementation of audit recommendations.
Identify additional funding opportunities to enhance service delivery.
Provide leadership and direction to staff, promoting high performance, continuous improvement and innovation.
Implement performance management frameworks, set objectives and support staff development.
Promote equality, diversity, health & safety, and good governance in all service delivery and employment practices.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Option 1 - Qualification RouteHold a minimum of a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business, Finance, Economics) AND
Have at least three years' experience in a business advisory/support environment.
Have at least five years' experience in a relevant business environment.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate, with clear personal examples:
Business Engagement & AdvisoryProactive business engagement to identify suitable businesses for support and encourage growth.
Establishing and developing relationships with prospective clients.
Conducting meetings and gathering relevant business information.
Analysing business opportunities, risks and constraints, and recommending appropriate support pathways.
Ongoing client relationship management.
Delivering consultancy and/or training to multiple businesses to support growth.
Facilitating workshops and delivering business presentations.
Coordinating significant business initiatives or projects that have demonstrably improved business growth outcomes.
Managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
Demonstrating strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills to achieve successful outcomes.
