Business Architect

About the Role

Are you a seasoned Business Architect with a passion for bridging business strategy and technology? Lead and shape the architecture of an entire area, setting direction in a way that contributes to the broader enterprise landscape. You will guide a team of 8 solution architects and enable cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, future-proof solutions.

You'll drive cloud migrations, manage configuration and portal platforms, and translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps. In addition, you support the full Engineering Journey: helping engineers simplify their work, improving solution design, enhancing the development process, and enabling continuous delivery across the entire software development lifecycle.

• Support engineers throughout the Engineering Journey, making their work simpler and more efficient.

• Simplify solutions and provide guidance in making design and technology choices.

• Improve the software development process, including best practices and workflow optimizations.

• Enable continuous delivery and automation to accelerate development cycles.

• Oversee and enhance the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.

• Portal environments providing employees with insights into teams, applications, and services;
• Intelligence platforms delivering contextual data for better decision-making;
• Co-creation initiatives allowing teams across the organization to contribute to the platforms while maintaining centralized control.

In this role, you will functionally lead a team of solution architects and collaborate closely with the business and tech leads in a strategic steering group. You will also be part of the broader business architecture team, reporting to the Lead Business Architect.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the business architecture within the domain;
• Functionally lead a team of solution architects, ensuring squads deliver the right solutions at the right time;
• Translate strategic objectives into practical architectural solutions ;
• Guide and advise stakeholders on architecture decisions and IT landscape structure;
• Contribute to a clear, agile, and sustainable IT landscape;
• Support co-creation and collaboration across teams while maintaining control of the architecture.

Your Profile

• Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience;
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in an architecture role;
• Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and guiding teams;
• Conceptual thinker capable of translating strategy into actionable solutions;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus;
• Experience with IT Service Management, cloud platforms, portals, and data integration is a strong advantage.
