Business Analyst

Wiltshire 100% office based

Permanent Full Time

£45,000 - £55,000 + excellent benefits

We are working with a highly successful and diverse private group with interests across multiple sectors, who are looking to appoint an experienced Business Analyst to join their IT team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, helping organisations understand their needs, improve processes and deliver meaningful change.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of business and IT change across the Group.

You will work across the full project lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to solution validation, user acceptance testing and transition into business as usual.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading business analysis activity across assigned projects and workstreams
  • Working with business stakeholders, technical teams and third-party suppliers to understand business needs and objectives
  • Planning and facilitating workshops, interviews and requirements-gathering sessions
  • Eliciting, documenting, prioritising and managing functional and non-functional requirements
  • Challenging requirements and identifying assumptions, gaps, dependencies and risks
  • Analysing and documenting current and future-state processes
  • Completing gap analysis across people, process, data, systems and policy
  • Working with technical and solution teams to ensure proposed solutions meet business requirements
  • Supporting User Acceptance Testing, including test scenarios, defect clarification and business sign-off
  • Producing clear requirements documentation, process maps, decision records and supporting project documentation
  • Supporting project governance, including RAID logs, action trackers and change impact assessments
  • Managing smaller workstreams independently where required
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, data quality and user experience

About You

We are looking for an established Business Analyst with experience supporting business, IT or systems change.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst or in a comparable role
  • Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience facilitating workshops and working with stakeholders at different levels
  • Strong process analysis and process mapping capability
  • Experience identifying gaps, root causes, dependencies and improvement opportunities
  • An understanding of Agile, waterfall or hybrid project environments
  • Experience supporting UAT and solution validation
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working with both business and technical audiences
  • A proactive, analytical and improvement-focused approach

You will be someone who is curious, commercially aware and comfortable asking questions and challenging requirements where appropriate. You'll also need strong attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential and commercially sensitive information.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join a successful and growing private group and play an important role in delivering business and technology change across the organisation.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects, influence how processes and systems develop, and make a tangible difference to the way the business operates.
