Job Description

Position Title: Business Analyst for the Fine Platform

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Duration: 8 months

Languages: Dutch, French and English

Work mode: Hybrid



Job Description:

  • Requirements collection and analysis: You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, gather detailed requirements, and document business processes to ensure clarity and alignment between teams.
  • Process improvement: You identify areas for business process optimization and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Solution design and documentation: You will develop the necessary business documentation, such as analysts, translate into epics, user stories, high-level functional specifications and use cases, and ensure that all deliverables meet the needs.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders: You will act as the main point of contact for both internal teams and external customers, providing guidance on business requirements and ensuring effective communication between all project parties.
  • Project support: You will support the project managers in defining the scope, managing risks and ensuring successful project execution. You'll work with developers and QA teams to ensure the solution meets business needs.
  • Independence and teamwork: You can work independently and proactively, taking responsibility for assigned tasks, while also contributing effectively to team projects and supporting team members in achieving common goals.
  • Continuous improvement: J provides insights to improve project execution processes and contributes to the continuous development of business analysis practices within Crossborder.


The main objectives of the Fines Platform are:

  • To speed up the processing of fines;
  • Reducing the workload of those involved in the criminal justice chain through an integrated approach;
  • Digitize information processing;
  • Improving the financial enforcement of sentences;
  • To improve services to the public.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements gathering and analysis: You work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, gather detailed requirements, and document business processes to ensure clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Process Improvement: You identify opportunities to optimize business processes and propose improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Solution design and documentation: You develop the necessary business documentation, such as analytics, which you translate into epics, user stories, high-level functional specifications and use cases, ensuring that all deliverables meet the needs.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders: You act as the main point of contact for internal teams and external customers, providing support on business requirements and ensuring effective communication between all parties of the project.
  • Project support: You assist project managers in defining the scope, managing risks and ensuring the smooth running of projects. You collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure that the solution meets business needs.
  • Autonomy and teamwork: You are able to work independently and proactively, take responsibility for assigned tasks while contributing effectively to team projects and supporting members in achieving common goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: You provide recommendations to improve project management processes and contribute to the continuous development of business analysis practices within the Crossborder program.
