BI Analyst

Salary: Up to £45,000 (Initial 12-month FTC)

Sector: Public Sector / Local Government

Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid: 2 days in the office)

About the Role

We're partnering with a public sector client seeking a BI Analyst to support their growing IT, Data, and Digital function. You will play a key role in helping the organisation make data-driven decisions by analysing data, generating insights, and providing recommendations that improve services affecting thousands of people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse business data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Use SQL to extract, clean, and prepare data for analysis.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support business planning, service delivery, and decision-making.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Fabric or Synapse is a plus but not essential.
What They're Looking For
  • Strong experience in Power BI and SQL.
  • Experience working in BI, analytics, or reporting roles within large, complex organisations, ideally in the public sector or local government.
  • Ability to translate data into insights and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
