Behaviour Support Assistant
Posted 41 minutes 31 seconds ago by Aspire People Limited
Do you have the ability to build relationships with children who don't always find school easy?
Aspire People are looking for resilient, engaging and committed individuals to work within Primary Schools supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), emotional regulation difficulties and behaviours that can challenge.
You don't necessarily need to have followed a traditional route into education.
Some of the skills schools value most can be developed through youth work, sports coaching, children's residential care, mentoring, community work and other roles supporting children and young people.
What makes someone successful in this role?
The ability to build trust.
The resilience to start again tomorrow when today hasn't gone to plan.
The confidence to maintain clear and consistent boundaries while understanding that behaviour is often communicating an unmet need.
And, most importantly, the belief that a child's current barriers should never define their potential.
The Role
You could be supporting pupils to:
Re-engage positively with classroom learning.
Develop emotional regulation strategies.
Recognise triggers and manage difficult situations.
Build confidence, resilience and independence.
Develop positive relationships with adults and peers.
Access learning when concentration or regulation creates a barrier.
Experience consistency, encouragement and clear expectations throughout their school day.
You'll work alongside teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams to understand the individual pupil and provide support that helps them access education and reach their potential.
We'd particularly like to hear from:
Experienced SEMH or SEND Teaching Assistants.
Youth Workers.
Sports Coaches.
Behaviour Mentors.
Children's Residential Support Workers.
Children's Support Workers.
Graduates with relevant experience.
People who have worked with vulnerable children or young people in community settings.
We're looking for people who are calm, resilient, adaptable and able to build strong relationships, while understanding the importance of consistency and professional boundaries.
Why Aspire People?
£95-£115 per day depending on experience and assignment.
Full-time, long-term opportunities.
Weekly pay.
Dedicated consultant support.
Opportunities within mainstream Primary and SEND settings.
If you've already demonstrated that you can engage, motivate and advocate for young people, those skills could make an enormous difference to a pupil who is struggling within education.
Apply today to discuss our current SEMH and behaviour support opportunities across Manchester.
