A leading Scottish law firm is looking to appoint a Banking Solicitor to join its highly regarded Banking & Finance team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience or a strong interest in banking and finance to build a long-term career within a collaborative, commercially focused practice.

The Role

You'll advise a broad range of lender and borrower clients on complex and high-value banking transactions, working as part of a specialist, supportive team known for its pragmatic approach. Depending on experience, you'll take responsibility for managing transactions from instruction through to completion, acting as a key point of contact for clients and coordinating transaction timetables and documentation.

Key Work Includes:
  • Corporate lending and associated Scots law security
  • Acquisition and leveraged finance (including MBOs and private equity-backed deals)
  • Real estate finance across commercial and residential developments
  • Asset-based and structured finance
  • Marine finance and cross-border lending
  • Debt restructuring, refinancing, and distressed scenarios
  • Multi-jurisdictional transactions with UK and international elements
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified Solicitor in Scotland (ideally 1+ years PQE)
  • Experience in banking, finance, or wider commercial work with a desire to specialise
  • Hands-on exposure to facility agreements and security documentation
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Confident communicator with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • Able to manage multiple matters while delivering excellent client service
  • A collaborative team player with an interest in business development
