Overview

CMS is seeking a Professional Support Lawyer to provide maternity cover within the Banking Knowledge Team. The role supports a busy and diverse Banking practice across areas including corporate and leveraged finance, real estate finance, infrastructure, project and asset finance, and restructuring and insolvency. This is a fixed term 12 month role based in London with flexible and agile working arrangements available for discussion.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Banking team with technical updates and day to day queries across the practice areas.
  • Work alongside Knowledge Counsel and know how partners to develop and maintain precedents, guidance notes and other knowledge resources.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of internal training and presentations.
  • Monitor legal and market developments and translate these into practical insights for fee earners.
  • Serve as a "go to" point of support, building strong working relationships across the practice.
  • Take a proactive approach to improving knowledge processes, tools and ways of working.
Qualifications
  • Qualification as an English law lawyer with experience in Banking and Finance.
  • Ability to build credibility and confidence with partners and fee earners at all levels through sound technical judgement and clear communication.
  • Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
  • Confidence producing written materials and presentation content for a legal audience.
  • Organised and self directed with the ability to prioritise and progress multiple pieces of work.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and supportive working style.
  • Experience in a professional support role within a large law firm is helpful, but not essential.
