Porter Wirral Private Hospital Flexible working hours £12.26 per hour + excellent benefits

Spire Wirral Hospital has an opportunity for a Bank Porter to join our experienced Portering team on an as-needed basis. This role involves providing support to cover staff absences due to sickness and annual leave, as well as addressing any shortfalls in shift coverage and driving duties within the porter team.

Working Hours:include a variety of shifts following these schedules: Monday to Saturday from 6 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm, and 10 pm to 6 am; Sunday from 6 am to 6 pm and from 6 pm to 6 am (Monday morning).
Contract type: Bank/Zero hours

As Porter, you will work as multi-skilled member of the team providing high level, quality support to the hospital working with the minimum of supervision, covering any of the courier, portering, cleaning, admin and security duties.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Whilst no formal qualifications are required excellent communication skills and presentation are essential
• Although escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function you will also be required to perform a number of varied duties
• Managing deliveries, all waste collection and disposal (including clinical)
• Movement of all goods and equipment when required and any additional tasks as requested
• Hourly walk rounds of the hospital site and assisting in any security duties
• Helping with any administration tasks that may be required i.e. medical records
• Switchboard

What do you need to have?

• A clean, full UK driving license is required for the role
• Excellent customer service and providing a friendly ear to patients during what can sometimes be a particularly unsettling time, our team of Porters provide a vital service in our Hospital
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Excellent customer care skills
• Ability to work without supervision
• Caring and sympathetic
• Ability to work evenings and possibly some weekends
• Able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the department
