Job summary

We are looking to recruit caring, professional, suitably qualified GPs to work in our Urgent Treatment Centre.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality urgent care based at North Middlesex University Hospital.

The GP will deliver care of the highest clinical standards and will work in conjunction with the UCC Lead GP, Service Manager, and nursing team to ensure effective overall performance of the UCC.

At all times, the post holder will act in a manner consistent with the GMC's Good Medical Practice and North Middlesex University Hospital values.

Main duties of the job

As this is Bank work, it is on an 'as and when' basis with no guaranteed hours.

Full Registration with the GMC is required, as well as having achieved the appropriate level of competencies to carry out the role you have been employed to do.

Duties within the shifts you are booked to fulfill include:

• liaising between nurses, other clinicians, patients, relatives to support safe care
• attending and participating in daily unit activities
• providing appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as needed
• maintaining high standards of professionalism, especially regarding documentation
• arriving on time for the shift and being available from the scheduled start time
• cooperating with the workforce deployment team regarding shift administration
• attending local induction when working in new areas
• complying with all local policies, including upholding the trust's values and behaviors

Job responsibilities

Providing triage in the Initial Assessment Unit, managing walk-in patients, conducting consultations, recording clinical notes, completing coding, and administrative tasks. Supporting the clinical team, managing referrals, patient education, prescribing medicines, and contributing to clinical audits. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies, using diagnostics appropriately, maintaining GMC registration and insurance, and participating in team meetings.

Person Specification Education and qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Eligible for full GMC registration at appointment
• Eligibility to work in the UK

This post requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
