Job overview

The Housekeeping Department are looking to recruit two Domestic Assistants to join their team.

The post holder will be responsible for cleaning clinical wards and departments, maintaining cleanliness within St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.

Working hours: Flexible hours, bank contract - as when available.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team member within the Facilities Department to provide a comprehensive cleaning service to the hospital.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and maintain high cleaning standards in all allocated areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with Trust policy.
• Follow Trust policies and procedures to aid staff, visitors and patients.
• Guide and direct visitors in a helpful and friendly manner.
• Communicate sensitive information with tact and diplomacy when dealing with deceased patients' families and friends.
• Actively participate in any departmental Information Technology initiatives.
• Perform any other duties deemed within the grading of the post.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand verbal and written communication and demonstrate good command of spoken English.
• Previous experience in a frontline service, preferably in customer service.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.
