At UHB, our vision is to Build Healthier Lives. Our purpose is to improve the health of the people and communities through the delivery of the best patient care, aligned with our values of being Kind, Connected, and Bold.

2025 is the Year of Leadership at UHB. We are proud to invest in and recognize the importance of allied health professionals across our four hospitals, strengthening the value of dietetic leadership.

Our diverse communities present a range of clinical conditions. To that end, we are excited to offer a new opportunity for a dietitian interested in developing leadership skills while enhancing their expertise in surgical dietetics.

You will lead a surgical dietetic team delivering specialist services across elective and trauma surgery pathways, including trauma and orthopaedics, vascular surgery, urology, colorectal, and general surgery. The team provides services across Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull hospitals.

You will be passionate about improving care, quality, and patient experience, making a difference to those accessing our services. In return, you will join a team committed to delivering excellence and community impact.

As one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts, we offer challenging opportunities to support your career growth.

Main duties of the job

As Lead, you will be an expert resource for the surgical MDT, working collaboratively to promote nutrition and raise the profile of dietetics across the Trust.

You will provide high-quality clinical dietetic services to surgical ward patients, review and update nutritional guidelines, and promote service development and innovation in nutritional interventions, particularly in our regional vascular centre, elective theatre hub, and large trauma and orthopaedic centre.

We support research and are committed to your personal and professional development, with a focus on quality improvement and service enhancement in surgical areas.

We offer flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance, including options to buy/sell annual leave and flexible bank holidays.
