An exciting opportunity has arisen at QEHB for an experienced leader who is keen to develop their managerial portfolio. The Band 7 DCSM will support the Clinical Site Manager in maintaining the safety and integrity of the whole site both in and out of hours. The role is instrumental in progressing the patient journey from admission to discharge, as well as being a credible, expert resource for clinical teams across the site.
Main duties of the jobAn integral part of the Site Management Team, the postholder will provide visible leadership, supporting both the clinical and ancillary teams across the site to maintain and manage patient flow, ensuring that pathways are maintained to deliver the best care to our patients. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring standards are maintained and exceeded. This is an exciting opportunity for an established clinical leader.

Qualifications- Registered Nurse on the NMC register / Registered professional on the HCPC Register (E)
- Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to degree / post graduate level equivalent (E)
- Teaching and Assessing qualification, i.e. C&G 730/ENB 998 or equivalent.
- Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC/ HCPC
- Significant post registration experience as a Registered Nurse at B6 or above in defined or associated speciality
- Extensive experience of working autonomously at a specialist level
- Evidence to support a program of personal and professional development
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Up to date clinical experience in acute areas including evidence of skills updates
- Working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment
- Experience in management across varied clinical areas / specialities.
- Ability to action own initiative (E)
- Evidence of sound decision making skills, particularly in Emergency situations. (E)
- Evidence of effective organisational skills and ability to work with a team (E)
- Ability to promote professional nursing image and act as a positive role model (E)
- Able to motivate others and work effectively in a team (E)
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of health care professionals, on a variety of complex and sensitive issues which require persuasive and empathetic skills. ( E )
- Diplomatic and assertive with clinical and managerial problem solving (E)
- Is able to establish areas for concern and refer these assertively to relevant personnel, ensuring patients receive effective care and attention (E)
- Competent in a range of clinical skills and expanded practices relevant to the scope of practice required. (E).
- Ability to work under pressure across competing priorities ( E )
- Ability to, undertake clinical audit , analyse information and develop robust measurable action plans to support improvement / change ( E)
- Evidence of ability to compile reports and documents for internal / external communication ( E)

- Able to manage and resolve conflict (E)
- Experience of multi-disciplinary & multi professional collaborative working (E)
- Knowledge of evidence based practice (E)
- Knowledge of audit methods and appreciation of the value of audit to practice improvement (E)
- Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context relating to the speciality (E)
- Has understanding / experience of the principles of Safeguarding ( E )
- Knowledge of corporate and clinical governance (E)
