Band 7 Clinical Lead Reserves Healthcare The closing date is 03 March 2026.
Welcome to Defence Healthcare Recovery Group (DHRG), we are an inclusive and dedicated organisation working to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Occupational Health Clinician to join our encouraging and welcoming Headquarters team based at Defence Medical Services (DMS) Whittington, Lichfield.
Our vibrant and fast paced organisation seeks to sustain and improve the operational efficiency of the UK's Reserve Forces by supporting the delivery of a range of occupationally focussed healthcare services. We are looking for an innovative leader to support both delivery and development of the services we provide.
The vacant post is full time. This role is peripatetic and cannot be delivered using public transport. Due to this a full UK driving licence is required for this position.

Main duties of the job The post holder will provide leadership, line management and professional supervision to the nursing team delivering occupationally focused primary healthcare to United Kingdom (UK) Reserve Forces personnel. Supplying direction and support to the refinement of the nursing role with the Reserve Forces Practice.
As a qualified occupational health clinician, the successful applicant will also act as a subject matter expert in the delivery of occupationally focused primary healthcare to UK Reserve Forces personnel to the whole multidisciplinary team.
To aid the planning, development, and delivery of services including occupational medicine assessments, health surveillance and force health protection measures.
This includes liaising with single and joint service working groups and forums.

Job responsibilities Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Hold a high level of communication skills and contribute to the wider development of others by presenting at conferences and publication of articles in the professional press.
- Demonstrate innovative and motivational leadership, acting as a role model and developing teamwork within the organization. Clearly communicate Occupational Health (OH) guidance to employers both verbally and in written/electronic formats, in accordance with current MOD regulations and best practice.
- Accurately record patient consultations and, where required, produce specialist reports in accordance with professional and organisational guidance.
- Identify knowledge and skill gaps and seek clinical supervision and / or advice as appropriate to enhance learning and development.
- Participate and lead in healthcare governance activities that improve the quality of healthcare and the effectiveness of their own and others practice.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of all clinical practice through the quality assurance strategies, such as the use of audit and peer review.
- Encourage and evaluate feedback from stakeholders (e.g. service personnel, Chain of Command (CoC) or other clinicians) to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure patient safety and confidentiality is maintained and meets United Kingdom Strategic Command (UK Strat Com) and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) policy and guidance.
